Durham Small Boats Head takes place on February 6th and as always the event relies on volunteers for its success so please step forward to fill one of the required roles. See the Job descriptions here or on the notice board for details and sign up on the sheet in the clubhouse.

The Durham round of the Long Distance Sculling Series went ahead on Saturday October 31st after some initial concern about the river conditions. Several clubs in the Northern region also offer an Autumn Small Boats Head on the same day to make a double-header, with DARC’s first venture attracting 125 entries of all boat types.[…]

During his short stay at Durham ARC former recreational rower Roger Bean kept himself busy when he wasn’t rowing by restoring the single scull ‘J. The Juniors had a successful day at Durham Autumn Sprint Regatta with wins in the J13 2x, WJ14 4x+ and J18 2x. In the masters events there was a win for Clare Woodward in the Masters C/E 1x. Results are available here. Thanks to Angela Harrison for photo of the winning WJ14 4x+.
