The official launch of a new publication by Andy Jaggard takes place at Stratford-on-Avon on Monday.
‘Shakespeare Press – The Memoir of Gerald Jaggard’ has nothing to do with Rowing, as Andy explains. “Over the last two years I’ve chatted to quite a few people who I’ve coached, or scull with, about the book. The front cover is shown above. It has involved a good deal of research in order to discover why my father could not complete his memoir, which I discovered a few days after his death twenty years ago. Although it includes several Shakespearean themes, forgery and the first folio for example, it is at heart a family story. My grandfather was a rather extraordinary character. he had a huge impact on my father’s life, but Gerald survived and in his mid-forties embarked on a new life.”
Copies will also be available at a discounted price of £12 and no P&P, and Andy will be in the bar at DARC next Sunday, 30th April from 12.00, to chat with anyone who may be interested in giving it a try. Anyone who would like to reserve a copy can do so by email to Andy at ajaggard@btinternet.com
