For a second successive year Durham ARC alumni have been named in Cambridge University crews for the Men’s Boat Race.
At the crew announcement for the 2024 Men’s and Women’s Boat Races which took place at Battersea Power Station on March 13th, Matt Edge was named in the stroke seat of the Cambridge Blue Boat for the 169th Boat Race, to be held on Saturday, March 30th.
Matthew rowed in the bow seat of the winning Cambridge Eight last year, following on from appearances in the Lightweight Boat Races of 2021 and 2022, with a win to his name in the 2022 race.
The crews for the Men’s and Women’s Lightweight Boat Races were revealed the following day and included Sam Taylor in the two seat of the Cambridge Men’s eight for the race on Friday, March 29th.
Sam was a member of Cambridge’s eight that won emphatically by 11 lengths in the equivalent race in 2023.

The pair returned to the Club last April when Matthew donated a set of blades.
